Found Dog

Long day. Found a dog on the way to Jazzercise this morning. Saved little guy from getting run over. Spent hours dropping off flyers and posting signs. Sure hope he finds his owners. My friend Rachel is keeping him for now. She was with me all day trying to help this little guy out. She made the flyers and delivered them. We are sure hoping this little guy wasn't just dropped off. Rachel paid to have him checked and bathed and groomed, before he went home with her tonight. We use the same vet, who offered to keep the dog all day while we searched for his owners. He had been out in the sun so much his fur had changed colors from being sunburned. Made me want to cry. He's a little schnauzer about 7 years old, not fixed. very docile. hasn't made a sound all day, great around other dogs. We'll see about cats. Rachel has 3 cats. I would have love to have taken the little guy, man he was a charmer, but I have 3 dogs and a husband I'd like to keep for awhile. Anyway, hopefully the little guy finds his owners or a new forever home soon. I though Rosco would be a good name for the little guy.

Lampworking class

Well, I have been very busy. Last week a couple friends and I went and took a beginner lampworking class at Blue Moon in Austin. I've done some lampworking before but it has been over a year since I touched my torch. We had a great teacher. Lisa with Blue Moon is awesome. I'm not good at taking pictures of my beads, but I'm gonna post one anyway. Hope you enjoy. Spent this evening sandblasting a couple projects for my SIL to give to her neighbor and her neighbors son for their birthdays. I'm posting them as well. Let me know what you think.

Missing In Action

Sorry, everyone. I have been MIA. I have been doing some construction on my house. Just finished Tiling 1/2 bath, laundry room and walk in pantry. My oldest son and I did all the work. Boy are we tired. We are almost done with all the floors down stairs. Got to tile the entry. We bought some slate for that. Out to be interesting. Never done slate before. We also found some great tile for the backsplash in the kitchen. Hope to finish that next week. Haven't had much time for crafts. Gotta get back into that grove quick.
Hope you are having a great month.
Later,
Lori

Well, the tile is coming up pretty easy. Thank goodness. This guy I hired is pretty good. Works hard and steady. I can't wait until I have to lay the tile now. Maybe I should work on something craft related since I have a show on Saturday.

Woo Hoo Getting some work done around here.

Well, I'm all excited. I found a guy to help me with some work around my house. Once I get this stuff done maybe I can do a little more crafting. He's coming tomorrow to tear up the tile in our laundry room, 1/2 bath and pantry. I'll lay the tile, but destruction is not my thing. I like creating. Anyway, he came by today and did some odd jobs around here and I was very pleased with the work.
Got to get crafting. I have a show on Saturday and haven't done a thing. Guess I'll do some sandblasting tonight.
HAve a great day.

Silly girl

Well another picture of Alli. This is one of my husbands favorite pictures of her. She was quite a bit younger then. She use to lay on his legs while he sat on this ottoman. We had new furniture and I wouldn't let her up so he sat on an Alli's ottoman and she'd crawl up there and go to sleep. She is quite a character. She now has full furniture privlegdes. Gave up trying to fight her.

Hope I can get some crafts I have done posted tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Want to see something I created?

This is a sandblasted tile wall. I Sandblasted all the tiles. (Well there are 30 blanks) I hand cut out each of the hundreds and hundreds of letters. Sure wish I had my cricut then. Took me several days to do all this. It is a wall in a School here in Houston, TX. The school build the extension on to the entrance and my wall is on the right when you enter. I got to see it today for the first time thanks to my great friend Benjee and her Husband Albert. I was thrilled to see it completed. I did all of the sandblasting and gave the school back the tiles and they created this wall . I was very impressed with the final results. I got to take pictures today. Sorry, not the best pictures but I have pictures finally. YAY!!!

I have been sandblasting for almost 30 years. Does that make me sound old? I'm 42 now started when I was 12. I love sandblasting. You can take an ordinary piece of glass and make it something extraordinary. I just love it. I sandblast, Glass, Granite, Tile, Slate, Marble, rocks and Agate slices at the moment, who knows what I'll find to try in the future. Anyway, I'll try to post more of my work for everyone to see.

Have a great evening.
